Veneers were created originally when actors and actresses started asking dentists to make their smiles better when making movies.  In the beginning, the adhesive used to place the veneers was not very strong, so the application was only temporary.  As dental and adhesive technology advanced, it became possible to attach the veneers permanently.   

Veneers cover many dental problems, such as stains, gaps in teeth, or misshaped or chipped teeth.  Custom-made shells are created to fit each tooth and are bonded over the front.  These shells can change not only the size of a tooth, but the shape, length, or color.
