Dr. Behrens has owned i Smile kck for more than 28 years and has practiced dentistry in KCK for more than 36 years. She graduated from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1987 and from the University of Kansas with a degree in Human Development in 1983.

Dr. Behrens was born and raised in Wyandotte County. A graduate of Washington High School, she is recognized as a "Reason to Believe" by the USD 500. She met her husband, the Reverend Rick Behrens there at Washington. They have two grown sons, Sam and Lucas. Rick leads the Grandview Park Presbyterian Church, a bilingual community, in KCK. Together, they are very active in bettering Wyandotte County. Our community is important to Dr. Behrens. She was in Leadership 2000 Year XIV and is a Paul Harris Fellow member of Village West Rotary. Professional honors include Oral Health Kansas Dental Champions Leadership Program 2010 and has repeatedly been chosen as Top KC Dentist by 435 Magazine. She is a member of the Kansas Dental Association and the American Dental Association and has volunteered for the Kansas Mission of Mercy. She is an avid soccer fan and is a charter member season ticket holder for the Kansas City Wizards, now known as Sporting KC.
