Dental sealants are simple and painless to apply.  The sealant is a rubbery compound that is applied to the teeth with a small brush.  The sealant coats down into the cracks of the teeth, leaving a barrier to prevent plaque and food from collecting there and allowing cavities to form.  The sealants are monitored after application and can be reapplied easily if needed.   

Most dental insurance companies will cover sealants for children up to the age of 18.
